StereoMirror Demos at 2008 ASPRS

Our home city of Portland, Oregon will host the 2008 ASPRS Annual Conference. Planar will have a dozen or more StereoMirror units on the exhibit floor with our partners.  Attendees will see Planar StereoMirror technology with Intergraph, BAE Systems, DAT/EM System International, Inpho, ERDAS (formerly Leica Geosystems), KLT Associates, GeoCue, Microsoft and, of course, in the Planar booth. The StereoMirror is gaining wide acceptance in the photogrammetry community where a crisp, clean stereo view is critical for a photogrammetrist's job.

Molecular Modeling in 3D: New Sponsorship

Planar is pleased to be a sponsor of Schrödinger's 2008 User Symposium on June 4-6 in Portland, Oregon. We are gaining more interest for our StereoMirror in computational chemistry applications. This will be a wonderful chance to demonstrate our technology and gain a better understanding of those who use molecular modeling software. Schrödinger is a dynamic company that develops state-of-the-art chemical simulation software for use in pharmaceutical and biotechnology research.

Benefits of AMLCDs over CRTs as Related to the StereoMirror

We have assembled a comprehensive list of advantages and disadvantages of the use of AMLCDs over CRTs for stereoscopic applications. The first two advantages of AMLCDs are:

  1. Higher brightness: You don't have to dim the lights to use your monitor. If your LCD monitor is too bright, it can be dimmed.
  2. Better contrast in high ambient illumination: CRT monitors reflect more room light which will cause blacks to look gray and vivid colors to appear dull.

ABC News Includes Footage of Planar's StereoMirror

We are very proud of our involvement in the clinical studies at Emory University. The results of this study were previewed at RSNA and receieved a lot of media coverage. Now ABC News has covered the story, and their video footage includes prominent shots of Planar's StereoMirror. Visit Planar3D for more more details about the clinical study.
